Lifestyle Medicine

Lifestyle Medicine is a proactive, multi-disciplinary approach to healthcare for all ages.

Lifestyle Medicine is a proactive, multi-disciplinary approach to healthcare for all ages. It focuses on preservation of optimum health and quality of life while making every effort to modulate the process of aging and to prevent and/or reverse chronic diseases such as: obesity, coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, high cholesterol, hypertension, diabetes, dementia, depression, and cancer. Seventy percent of all chronic diseases are a direct result of our western lifestyle and diet, are completely preventable, and are even reversible after they have developed.

The basic tenet of Lifestyle Medicine is that you can reverse chronic diseases and aging by lifestyle modification and proper hormone replacement. Many studies have shown a regression of arterial plaque, markers of inflammation, and diabetes through following a whole foods plant-based diet, sticking to a regular exercise program, as well as having a strong support system.

We help you accomplish optimal health in the following manner:

  • Patient evaluation through extensive medical history, family history, nutritional and exercise assessment
  • Review of your physical examination by your primary physician
  • Laboratory evaluation of markers of inflammation
  • Cholesterol including particle size and number
  • Possible radiological examinations; such as intimal medial thickness of your carotids, and CT calcium score of your coronaries.

This comprehensive assessment helps us to establish where you are at this moment.

No matter what your physical condition is at the moment, if you are willing to change your habits, we are confident that we can improve your health and start reversing your chronic diseases. This means that we will work very closely with you to reverse the cause of your disease state, make you healthier, and start taking you off your medications as your health improves. We will follow your laboratory exams and radiological studies done at your local laboratory and radiologists office. Together, we will celebrate as your health improves.

Personalized proactive treatment plans consist of: proper diet, nutritional guidance, exercise, stress management, a supportive community, and appropriate medical interventions.
